Microwave Caramel Custard







This is a very simple and quick dessert which is very tasty and creamy.Caramel custard is also baked and steamed,but this is done in microwave.Within 7 minutes pudding will be ready.
With this ingredients you can serve for 2.

Ingredients


Sugar – 2-3 tbs

Egg – 1

Milk – 2/3 cup (160 ml)

Vanilla extract – a few drops


For caramel


Sugar – 2 tsp

Water – 2 tsp

Hot water – 2tsp


Method


1. In a microwavable bowl, combine sugar and water.Microwave  for 2-3 minutes until it melts and gets brown color ( please check it after 2 minutes).


2.Quickly mix 2 tsp of hot water and divide the caramel into two medium size microwavable glass dish and set it aside.


3.In a bowl combine egg and sugar,then add milk and vanilla extract,stir well.Strain the mixture and pour it on top of the caramel.


5. Put the pudding dishes  in a microwavable container with water. Make sure water is filled up to the level of the pudding and does not spill over into the pudding. Then cover the whole thing with a plastic wrap.


6.Microwave it for 5-6 minutes until it starts to bubble.Check after 5 minutes because power settings for each microwave varies.Sometimes it takes 7 minutes.

7.Take out the pudding dish from the microwave and allow it to cool and chill it for 1 hour.





To serve, place a plate over the pudding dish  and turn over 

gently.And enjoy the caramel creamy pudding...

Corn Flour Halwa in microwave(Diwali special)

WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS DIWALI!!!!

Today you can see here a very easy recipe for making a halwa,corn flour halwa in microwave.It can be made both on  microwave and on stove top.This is a diwali special sweet for all.Got this simple recipe from Rak's kitchen.This halwa is having a jelly texture,but tastes sweeter than that.





Ingredients

1.Corn flour – 1/2cup
2.Sugar – 1 1/2cup
3.Water – 2cups
4.Food color(color you like)- few drops
5.Cardamom powder – a pinch
6.Nuts(cashew & almond) – 2tsp
7.Ghee – 2tsp

Method

1.Take a microwave safe bowl,add in corn flour,sugar,water,food color,cardamom and mix well without any lumps.

2.Put the bowl in the microwave and put this on high for 9minutes. Take it out after every 3mins and mix well, so that it doesn't form any lumps.(For me it took 9mins,varies according to the microwave)



3.Heat ghee in a pan and fry  2tsp of chopped cashewnuts and almonds.Pour it over the halwa and mix.




4.Grease a tray with ghee .



5.Pour the halwa over it and allow it to cool for 30mins.



6.Cut it into desired shape and serve.



Enjoy this diwali with an easy and tasty sweet.

Note:1.You can make this on stove top also,use a non stick pan and keep whisking continuously.When the halwa starts to leaves the sides,transfer to a greased tray.
2.Don't refrigerate as it changes the texture,so finish it within 2 days.
