Chinese Chilli Beef




This is a yummy and mouthwatering dish….


Ingredients:


1.Beef – 1/2kg ( cleaned and cut into thin strips)
2.Chilli flakes – 1 1/4 tbs
3.Pepper powder – ½ tsp 
4.Soyasauce – 3tbs(for marination add 1 tbs)

5.Chilli sauce – 2tbs(for marination add 1 tbs)
6.Salt as required
7.Sliced  onion – 2
8.Sliced capsicum – 1 medium size
9.Finely chopped ginger and garlic – 2 tbs each
10.Green chilli – 2
11.Corn flour – 1 tbs(mixed with ¼ cup water)
12.Sugar – less than 1/4tsp
13. Sesame oil /  Vegetable oil – as required.



 

Directions:


1.Marinate the beef strips with the ingredients  from 1 to 6 and keep it aside for 10-15 mins.


2. Pressure cook the marinated beef till it is done(3 whistles is enough to be done,varies depends upon the beef you use). I usually dont add water while cooking,if u want you can add 1-2tbs of water.


3.When it is cooked,keep the beef and stock separately.

4.Now heat oil in a non stick pan and stir fry the  sliced onion , split green chilli’s , capsicum with 1 tbs of soyasauce for 2 minutes and keep it aside.

5.In the balance oil,stir fry chopped ginger  & garlic with the cooked beef,fry it for 2-3 minutes.Now again add 1tbs soyasauce, 1tbs chilli sauce & sugar and fry for a minute.

6.Now add the beef stock and cornflour mix,continue till it get dry.

7.When it is done,add the fried ingredients and stir it.




 


You can have this yummy dish with parathas,chapathi….

Chicken Chilli Dry

 This is one of our favourite chicken dish,so  i made this on our 3rd wedding anniversary...


Ingredients

Chicken – 1 kg(cleaned and cut into small pieces)
All purpose flour/Maida –  4tbs
Corn flour – 2tbs
Egg – 1
Soya sauce – 2tbs
Chilli sauce –  2tbs
Kashmiri chilli powder –  2tbs(if you are using normal  chilli powder – 2tsp)
Pepper powder – 1 tbs
Crushed ginger & garlic – 2tbs
Chopped Green Chilli – 2
Onion(cut into cubes) – 2
Capsicum (cut into cubes)–  1 ½
Chopped Spring onion – 2tbs
Chicken stock – ½ cup
Corn starch- 1 tbs corn flour mixed with little water
Salt as per taste
Vegetable oil as required
Food color (optional)

Method

1.In a bowl take maida,corn flour,pepper powder,1tbs chilli powder,each tbs of soya and chilli sauce,egg,salt and little water,mix all together and then add the chicken pieces and marinate it and keep aside for 10mins.

2.Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the chicken pieces for 4-5 mins.

3.Take another non stick pan and heat 3tbs of oil(you can take the oil used for frying the chicken).Add the crushed ginger & garlic,sauté it for a few minutes,then add the cubed onions and chopped green chilli,saute it,add the cubed capsicum,remaining soya and chilli sauce,stir fry for few minutes.

4.Now add the fried chicken pieces and 1tbs of chilli powder and combine all together.

5.Add  ½ cup of  chicken stock and ¼ cup of water to it,cook till it becomes dry,then last add the corn starch,give a good stir.Corn starch will give glaze to the chicken chilli.

6.Garnish with chopped spring onion.



Serve hot with fried rice,parathas,chappathi…..
