Baked Beanz in tomato sauce




This is a very  very easy and simple vegetarian recipe,it goes very well with kuboos and chapathi.Within 10 minutes your side dish will be ready to serve.My sister-in-law introduced this recipe to me.





Ingredients

 Heinz Baked beans in tomato sauce – 1 tin



 Oil – 2 tbs

Mustard seeds – ½ tsp

Dry red chilly – 2

Curry leaves – 1 sprig

Chopped shallots – 6-8

Chopped onion- - 1 medium size

Chilly powder – 1 tsp

Chopped Coriander leaves – 1 tbs


Method


1.Heat oil in a pan ,splutter mustard seeds and then add curry leaves.

2.Add chopped shallots,onion & dry red chilly,saute the onion till golden brown.
 
3.Then add the canned baked beans in tomato sauce and red chilly powder.Boil for 3 minutes.Switch off the flame and add the the chopped coriander leaves.


 Serve with kuboos or chappathi…

Paneer Tikka Masala


Paneer Tikka Masala is a popular north indian vegetarian cuisine. In this dish paneer is marinated in a yogurt mixture and then cooked in a spicy and creamy sauce.It is having a smoky flavour..i love that taste.Chicken tikka masala is a very popular tasty non-veg dish,so here is the vegetarian version of it.A delicious,rich and flavorful dish,which is very easy to cook.

Ingredients


For marination


Paneer cubes – 200g

Cubed capsicum – 1

Cubed tomato – 1

Cubed onion – 1

Thick yogurt – 4 tbs

Chilli powder – 1 tsp

Kasturi methi powder –  ½ tsp

Lemon juice –  ½ tsp

Salt as required

Oil – 1 tbs



For tikka masala


Oil – 1 tbs

Cumin seeds – ½ tsp

Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp

Finely chopped onion – 1

Tomato puree – ¾ - 1 cup

Turmeric powder –  a pinch

Chilli powder –  1 tsp

Coriander powder –  1 tsp

Cumin powder – ½  tsp

Garam masala – ¼  tsp

Fresh cream – 3 tbs

Oil – 1 tbs

Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbs

Salt as required


Method

1.In a bowl put all the cubed vegetables and paneer,then add all the given  ingredients under marination.Mix all together and marinate for 1-2 hrs.


2. Heat a non stick pan and toast the marinated paneer and vegetables on medium flame till golden brown and keep it aside.








3.Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds,when it crackles add chopped onion,saute it till slight brown,then add ginger garlic paste and saute it for few minutes.


4.Now add the tomato puree and all the spices turmeric powder,chilli powder,coriander powder,cumin powder and garam masala powder,then mix well altogether.Add little water and cook for 2-3 minutes.


5.Add the toasted paneer and vegetables to the gravy and cook for few minutes in low flame.


6.If you think the gravy is too thick, add water according to your consistency.When it reaches the right consistency add the fresh cream and stir in.Switch off the flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.



Serve hot with naan,chapathi,pulao or paratha..
