Also its very easy to make...
Here is the recipe...
Oil – 4tbs
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Dry red chilli – 2
Curry leaves – a sprig
Tamarind – gooseberry size
Roughly Sliced Small onion/Shallots – 8-10
Crushed garlic – 1 tbs
Hing/ Asafoetida/Kayam – ¼ tsp
Chopped tomatoes – 2
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Coriander powder – 1tbs
Chilli powder – 1tsp
Pepper powder – ½ tsp
Fenugreek powder – a pinch
Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbs
Salt as per taste
1.Soak tamarind for 10mins in ½ cup of hot water ,after that extract the juice.
2. In a bowl take all the spices,tamarind juice and 2-2.5 cups of water and mix well and keep it aside.
3.Heat a kadai/pan,add oil splutter mustard seeds,add dry chilli and curry leaves.Now add the sliced shallots,asafoetida,salt and saute it till brown color.
4.Add chopped tomatoes saute it for few minutes,then add 1/4cup of water and cook till tomatoes becomes soft.
5.When the tomatoes get completely cooked pour the tamarind mixture and coriander leaves to it and boil it for 3-5 mins.
